Sansamp GT-2 and BDDI 3-band EQ

I heard a lot of issues regarding the active EQ's of the Sansamp GT2 or Bass Driver DI as it it too hifi sounding. Well, for me it doesn't really bothers me at all because I always like these pedals. What I have here is a 3 band active EQ taken from the other Sansamp - the Tri-AC. I didn't mean to replace the existing stock EQ of the original circuit but rather using both one at a time will be a good idea. By using a DPDT or 3PDT toggle switch, meaning only one EQ circuit will be used while bypassing the other, not bad huh?. Please watch out for the connections. The pad labeled "V/2" refers to Vref(4.5V) and should be connected in the main GT-2 board where Vref is located. You should know it's location, say, if Tonepad's board is used(ORANGE colored pcb tracks). There's plenty of room to drill on that board. IC is a matter of taste so try whatever suits you best and always use a socket.

  7. Take a look at IC4a(at tonepad's schematic and silkscreen board), cut a trace right AFTER the 0.1uF capacitor, located just below the HIGH pads. DO NOT cut the junction of the 10K resistor and 0.01uF cap. Now, let's go to IC4b and take a look at the board, there's a 1K resistor(above the lone NPN transistor connected to it's BASE), correct?. Cut the trace in between(that vertical trace just under the 1K resistor).
Now you can connect the IN of the new three-band EQ right after the other terminal(the recently cutted trace) of the 0.1uF cap while the OUT goes to the (upper)terminal of the 1K resistor(not the trace that connects the 10K resistor and 0.01uF cap to the out put of IC4b). That's it!

  8. Will this dude work well with Bass driver DI? Or do I have to change some of the parts to make it more bass-specific?

  9. In bypasing the original tone control of the GT-2 (from the schematic), are the .1 cap and the 1k resistor INCLUDED or EXCLUDED in the mod?

    Salamat bro.

  10. Bro, Can this circuit be grafted to the sansamp Classic clone over at FSB? I'm planning to change the single Treble pot with this circuit. Salamat.
